Courses and Workshops
If you're thinking about keeping chickens or are a newcomer to the hobby try one of our beginners courses
The course will last for approximately two hours (depending on the amount of chicken chatter!) and will cover the following points:
Where to keep your chickens
What do I need and how much will it cost – housing, accessories
What to feed your hens
A good husbandry routine - what to do daily, weekly, monthly and infrequently
Handling chickens, wing clipping and putting on mite powder
Taking the chickens home and settling them in
Health checking, tips & First Aid
Introducing new chickens to the flock
Other Common Questions
There will be plenty of opportunity to see lots of different chickens, across several different breeds and for everyone to handle the chickens. A set of course notes will be provided as well as a super goody bag.
The course will cost £28.00 per adult.
There will be complimentary hot/cold drinks and home-made cakes provided.
